The problem is that these forums were set for serious discussions whereas many PNGns on the net do not really want serious discussions. They are more into unwinding from a day of serious work at the lab, lecture hall, or hard reading and completing of papers.

No one who visits on the forums really want serious talk on a narrow area of discussion. We are all brain-dead. The good ideas of a few who want to encourage a variety of discussion are only as good as the patrons who contribute to them.

The lack of patronage is due to the image of seriousness that these forums perhaps appear to the rest of us.
