My response-
I think the comment about PNG students wanting to use the internet to relax, not to discuss serious topics, is true.
If you really count and analyse the number of postings here under serious topics versus those which are meaningless banter and argument, the meaningless postings are not as common numerically as they might appear as a perception. There is a lot of serious stuff on this board right now, but it's cluttered by the nonsense.
There has always been only a few Papua New Guineans who consistently engage in serious discussion AND who are regularly present on the internet. It is a small pool.
It is still near the beginning of the school term in PNG/Australia. Usually the postings pick up in March.
Those are my impressions.
