Gabe orders a chicken dish; the details escape him. Really he doesn't care what he eats, as long as it does run off the plate. He never did like fancy restaurants, and even that first introductory dinner to the Agency was a bit uncomfortable - especially since he'd met Lian there, and well... he'd been a bit skeptical.
"She's fresh in from China."
"China?!?"
"Supposed to be the head of her communications department. Should be helpful."
"Any background checks?"
"Hey, Logan, I don't make the rules. Live with it."
Oh, he'd lived with it, all right. And learned to like it. Lian had been a big help, and still was. And her field skills weren't that bad either. Except that she has a tendency to be quite selfless at times...
Lian lethargically orders a small plate of lasagna. She should've expected the vaccine to have a few side effects. One of them was apparently a reduced appetite. Not a problem, however, as it HAD cured the virus... and good grief, that was worth side effects any day. It would've been nice to know what those renegade Agents had been doing at the restaurant, but as they'd left, it hardly mattered. And besides... really it wasn't their fault. They'd all been following orders, and probably had almost no idea what had really been going on. Most likely they had been some of the newer recruits. Fresh in, just like she had been.... oh, was it five or six years ago?
The only difference was, THEY wouldn't have to live through the hell she'd had to.
Teresa is the only one who's finding any humor in the situation right now, and shakes her head. "Squid pasta? Really, squid pasta?" A grin. "Nothing for me, thanks, I'll just live with this nice soup here." She eyes the menu once before putting it back down. Never anything really worth spending money on, anyways. Downtown D.C. was like that. Expensive, but cheap. In some cases, really cheap. Take the music playing over the loudspeakers, for example. Who listens to Don Ho anymore?
Besides, some music is bad for the digestion. Then again, so are some places.
