I was lucky to be a stay at home mom, but somewhat unlucky that it put me in position to discover or witness most misbehaviors when they happened. As a result I probably gave 60% or so of the spankings in our house. However, my husband and I were very much on the same page on the topic. Thus, when he was home and something happened that called for a spanking, he usually stepped and relieved me of the duty.

Our girls were always spanked in the privacy of their bedrooms, and other than maybe two or three times that I watched my husband give the spanking, I usually stood outside the bedroom door and listened.

I gave more than my share of the spankings, and my husband tried to spank identically to the way I did. Nevertheless, it was still always a bit surreal to hear a spanking through a closed bedroom door. Without doubt though, the most memorable such experience for me was hearing our oldest daughter getting her first ever bare bottom paddling, from her dad, when she was nine.
