At one point I left the beer tent to go to the bathroom. I got lost and was wondering around for awhile. I saw no one smoking, evenif this was night. Although it was the midway area with rides. I take it that would not be a good place to get sightings?

Isn't Duluth in the same general region (maybe even the same county) as Hibbings?...a city with amazingly high smoking rates for MN standards. While the two cities are probably different from each other with Duluth being larger, a college town and probably a lot less gritty than Hibbings, perhaps that region as a whole has something about it that that keeps a smoking culture alive to some degree.
