Thanks to both of you for the good information.

I have Quest DSL working here at my house now. It is connected to my Windows XP box. I have 640K down and 256K up.

I have a external DSL Cisco "modem" that the telephone line plugs into. Then a cross over network cable comes out of the Cisco, and plugs into a standard off the shelf network card in my PC.

In the past I have pluged the Cisco into a hub, and plugged a second network cable from the hub into my Linux box. I had XP and Linux set up for DHCP. Worked just fine.

I have a Apple brand network card that came in the Mac 575 and I have moved that into my Mystic.

After that, I am lost!

I should have 8.1 here in about a week and then I will try to set it all up. I have 7.5.1 loaded now, and I could not get the DSL to work to save my life.

Is the reason that it will not work is that I need a newer OS (like 8.1)?

Thanks agin for all the good information.
