That black wire with the (female) peach colored connector is supposed to be connected to the analog board. Plug it into the silver (male) tab that sticks out which is located immediately to the left (looking at the A/B from the rear and somewhat hidden) of the three white wires that are coming from the same location on the CRT as the black wire.

Also check to see that the three metal loops on the bottom of the CC L/B touch the metal shielding. I've had sound problems (buzzing sounds coming from speaker using a 6500 L/B) when the L/B to shield contacts didn't quite touch.

Oh, BTW if you get normal screen sounds and normal start-up sounds from the speaker, but nothing appears on the monitor, make sure that the brightness control is not the culprit (not the push-button brightness control on the front of the 'puter but the control on the A/B labeled VG2). Heh. Learned that one the hard way! ;)
