In reply to: makoto sato 's message, "Re: VGA Mod: 4.7KOhm resistor to Pin 20 of a/b. HELP!!" on 09:03:45 11/08/01 Thu

I've done Chris' a/b mod, but my CC stubbornly refuses to display anything on the screen with it. (Everything works again when I undo the mods so the a/b's still alive.) It was Chris who suggested I try this thing with the resistor since nothing else I've tried seems to work.

The problem is that I still haven't found a clear description of how to add the resistor.

I should point out that my analog board is one of the ones without J79 (which is what I assume you mean Scott when you say J19.) This is the circumstance in which the CCSCC reccomends you add this resistor (it's in their FAQ).

However, reading Scott's reply brings up some quesitons:

First, what do you mean when you say "the IP8 to pin S1"?
Don't you just do the ZP1 mod, isolate pin 20, connect it to pin 24 and isolate Pin 25? Am I missing a step here?

Secondly, you wrote that you
"connect pins 21 and 24 together" Isn't it pins 20 and 24? Are there two versions of the mod? What about isolsting pin 25?

Getting really, really confused....

Cheers,
Adam.
