Subject: No Social Media Promotion Of Dancers In Lead Up To Worlds

Promotion of dancers in the lead up to Worlds and other majors is barred by the rules. Why are schools still promoting their dancers in full costume? This is obviously the lead-up time to Worlds.

Example: I see O'Connor-Kennedy promoting their top dancer on social media, directly mentioning how many Worlds wins she has, her All Ireleands results, and pictures in full costume.

They're not the only one of course, and not even the worst example, just one of many examples.

This should have ended by now. This has been the rule for years now.

The Rule:

AN COIMISIÚN LE RINCÍ GAELACHA Social Media Policy
6.6 There should be no images of individual dancers, especially in costume, posted to social media in the lead
up to competitive events. Any identifiers (such as names of individual dancers, competitor numbers, section
information etc.) also must not be used in posts of any kind in the lead up to competitive events.
