Any suggestions for spring skiing relatively near CLRG feiseanna? Doesn't have to be "great" skiing as we are beginners and only ski once a year. Mainly looking for a fun getaway and change of scenery. Always nice to feis out of the SR and meet new ID friends, plus get different ADCRG comments. Thanks for your recommendations.

Instructions On Viewing BBC Documentary From US -- No name, 11:22:41 10/20/23 Fri [5]
It's a bit complicated to see the BBC Documentary from the U.S.. But because it's an important investigation and does involve the U.S. Irish Dance community, it should be viewed here.

You will first need a VPN to watch the documentary (Virtual Private Network). You can Google how to find one. I use one called Surfshark which is less than $3 a month and which you can cancel for free in the first month. There are many others, I am not promoting this particular one and any of them should be fine. I know others who use NORD VPN and someone else who uses one called ExpressVPN. Any should work.

The purpose of the VPN is just to indicate to the BBC that you're viewing as part of the UK.

Once you download the VPN extension, you then activate it and select from a list where you want to look like you're from. Choose something in the UK. If you have an option for a Static IP, that should work fine.

You then go to this website, but only after you've told your VPN to Connect to a UK address.

This is a three part documentary called The Year That Rocked Irish Dancing. I've linked to the first part. The third part is about the cheating scandal, but all three parts are interesting and worth watching.

However, you're not done. You may need to open a free account with the BBC iPlayer if you don't already have one. You can use your normal email address for verification.

At some point it will ask you if you have a Television License. You say yes (it won't ask for anything beyond if you state you have one).

People have tried talking to the teacher about toxic situations in the past but the teacher chooses to put on blinders. After the fact they acknowledge that there was an issue but they tend to be oblivious while these people create drama. This is the parent who is always available to do whatever the teacher needs but they seem to feel this gives them the right to act like they own the school. My dancer is tired of the favouritism being shown along with being in fear of being the next target for the gossip mill. We are worried that if we try talking to the teacher about this parent, the parent will cause more issues for is. Everyone is scared to say anything because no one wants to be the next target.
Is it like this everywhere? Will we just wind up in a different toxic situation? My dancer just wants to go to class and dance.

Searching for dressmaker/seamstress to make alterations to solo near Manhattan Beach, CA -- More inside, 08:44:06 08/30/23 Wed [3]
My dancers solo needs to be let out in the zipper to allow more space in the hips/bum area. Zipper is buckling up. My go to seamstress broke her arm (ouch). Would like to have it altered before Sept 30/Oct 1 feis.

If you are or know of a seamstress who has worked on ID dresses before in the LA are please let me know!!

Update!!! Feisweb is open for entries for the Oakville Feis and The Crown and Rose Feis September 23th and 24th. Over 300 already registered! Staying true to the Irish tradition of feiseanna, the Fall Celtic Festival will take place at the same venue with live entertainment, face painting, ceili dancing, beverage tent, and lots of fun activities for the whole family. Sign up for Grades 1-10 on Friday night or parents can purchase tickets for the Feis Pub night @ The Brogue Irish Pub, it's not far from the hotel blocks on Saturday 23rd. A night of live entertainment, door prizes and raffles! This is a weekend not to be missed!

Each feis offers variation in competitions for Championship and Prelim Champ. On day 1- OC/PC will be merged 9,11,13,15,17,17+,19,19+ and on day 2 OC/PC will be merged 9,10,12,14,16,18,18+ (as long as numbers permit). Where possible, judges will also be varied on different stages over the 2 days.

Showcasing a Freestyle competition, Slip Jig step about in hard shoe Trophy Special, a Premiere Oireachtas Trophy Special, Male Reel Dance-off, Preliminary second chance Competitions, Figures, an Adult multi-round Competitions and many more!
