As a feis organizer myself, I can tell you that there are many ways to be frugal to host a great feis. Shop around for better awards, we have a mom & pop trophy shop and they always give me great deals because I ask for the best price, they know we support them and it's mutual.

I also negotiate venue. Yes, all of this takes time but as a volunteer I do it successfully.

If you don't ask for a good deal then you'll most likely be over paying.

It can actually be fun, get a few other parents involved, make it your mission.
