Subject: What do you want them to do? I don’t think they have a choice. The accused have a right to due process. People shouldn’t lose their livelihoods without proof and I don’t think CLRG can afford forensics on the messages and pictures of texts

But I can’t figure out what people want CLRG to do. Screenshots can be faked. If I remember correctly there were pictures of messages on a phone. There’s no way any of this would stand up in court if there was a trial. Where does the burden of proof lie? I think CLRG needs to be able to prove that texts messages were actually sent between two parties and without the actual devices how do you prove that? And if they lose in court, do they need to pay for the accused teachers legal fees?

Do I think cheating happens? Absolutely. Do I believe that those texts were real? I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they all were. But at this point I can’t logically come up with a way forward that doesn’t bankrupt the entire organization. $1 million is just a drop in the bucket and what would the end result be?

I think the only thing they can do is try to prevent this from happening in the future. I would personally like to see a scoring system similar to gymnastics and figure skating.
