From someone who helps with scheduling and splits and combines for their feisanna, we try our best to make sure that there are at least 5 competitors in grades and prelims. We even try to take into account dancers that will move up levels from one day to the next. Same with splitting comps. It comes down to ages, at that point. It takes hours to try and make the competitions fair. Speak to the Feis committee. I’m sure they will gladly show you the age break downs of the comps. And it’s a lot of hard work to combine comps on the day. Feisworx does not make it easy.
