Anybody's parents seem to disregard their prohibition on child nudity or children showing underwear the moment a spanking was to be given?

I have a lot of thoughts on how this played out in my childhood and what it meant for my psyche back then, but I'm really curious if other people sensed some sort of disconnect between principal and practice in their upbringing.
