In 4th grade one of our teachers used a ping-pong paddle to spank with. Fortunately I never got a paddling from her but a few of my classmates did. One in particular stands out because for some reason he peed on the classroom floor. She took him out into the hallway to paddle him and her paddle actually broke. The sound of it sort of echoing in the hallway is a sound I'll never forget. I imagine one of those fli-back paddles would not have been as effective as a ping-pong paddle, especially over clothes.
