I don't remember seeing any bare bottom spankings at school or receiving any either. I was at school in England in the 1970s and 1980s. The closest I came to witnessing a bare bottom spanking was during the spring of 1978 at a small junior school in rural Lincolnshire. I was in the headmistresses's office where she was listening to me read. She was testing all the children in my year at the time. All of a sudden there was a knock at the door and this boy, I think his name was Martin, he was in the year below me, entered her office, announcing nervously that he had been sent to see her by Mrs Atkinson for "being naughty in class." Mrs Sales then asked him what he had done and he told her that he "kept talking and making animal noises during story time." Mrs Atkinson along with other teachers would devote an hour each day to reading the class a story! Mrs Sales then stood up and placed the chair she had been sitting on, in the middle of her office and called Martin over too her, where she then proceeded to take down his trousers and put him across her lap. At this point I was getting really excited hoping that his underpants might come down too. I was though to be disappointed in this respect. Martin's underpants had images of Spiderman dotted all over them! Before she began smacking his bottom, Mrs Sales added that "had he been one of her own boys, these (his underpants) would be coming down as well!" And "things would be much, much, much worse for him!" And that he should realise just how lucky he is!" And she carried on "it looks like Spiderman is going to have to get a spanking as well!" She then started smacking his bottom, hard, crisp, stinging slaps that obviously really did hurt. From the start Martin yelped, winced and protested. By the 8th or ninth slap he was crying and sobbing. And by the end of it he was bawling. I guess he got between 15 and 20 slaps! Although I could not see how red his bottom was, finger marks from where Mrs Sales hand had landed extended beyond the fabric of his underpants. She kept up a steady rhythm during the spanking. Allowing the sting from each smack to really sink in and leave its impression. At the end of the spanking as he still lay across her lap she told him that "the next time he misbehaved in class she would spank him in front of the whole school during assembly!" she then stood him on her feet and telling him to behave,sent him back to his classroom. She then resumed listening to me read as though nothing had happened.

So that was the closest I ever came to actually seeing a bare bottom spanking at school!
