I'm one of the old geezers on this forum who grew up in the early '50s when spanking was the overwhelming choice (often the only choice) for correcting kids' misbehavior. I and all of my friends knew that if we got caught doing something we shouldn't we'd get spanked, often as not by the adult that caught us at it if they were in charge of us at the moment. Parents weren't even consulted, usually, which was fine with me - it was bad enough that the spanking adult knew what I had done, I didn't want my folks to know, too - I'd probably get another spanking. Therefore, I got lots of spankings from my friends' parents (moms usually, but a few fathers, too), camp counselors, and several babysitters. Every spanking I ever got was on my bare bottom - that's just how spankings were given. We all knew that spankings were supposed to hurt. We didn't like that one bit, to be sure, but we all realized that that was just the way the world worked, and getting it on the bare skin maximized the sting. I would have held in contempt any adult that let me keep even just my underpants on when he/she spanked me. Bare bottom was such a given that often when I was getting spanked with a friend at his house and it was my turn all his mom had to do was say "All right, Radovan, your turn," and I would pull my pants and underpants down without being told to. It wasn't necessary to order them down.
