Thank you, Sonya, for explaining the situation you were in. What a psycho that guy was. If I was in a position where I was forced to paddle a student, I just can't imagine doing what he did. Swinging the paddle as hard as he could with both hands? To a girl with her bottom exposed? It's sick. If it happened to my daughter, I might just kill him.

I got paddled in school a few times. As a boy, there was a lot of pressure to "take it like a man." The boy who got paddled before you must have been so ashamed that you saw how he reacted to his punishment. Fortunately, our VP did not paddle as hard as yours, and it was possible to remain more-or-less stoic, though the temptation to rub afterwards was very high. A spanking at home was a different story, but that was the difference between a rapid-fire punishment and a slowly administered paddling.

I love that little scene you did with your high school principal for the yearbook. What cute photos they must have been, and you were such a good sport to go along with it. I also love how you stood up at the School Board against bringing back the paddle. You were a superhero. And how you handled the "reunion" with the Assistant Psycho only highlights how much better of a human being you are than he is.
