I would just wear flipflops and a towel around my waist. Things were very tolerant of boys being boys then. On way home things were even more relaxed. I would rinse off under an outdoor shower pole and just sit on towel way home. Since we were in a pack of three boys and two to three girls, no one bothered us and other naked boys played with us. Getting ready to go to the beach meant just get naked and get in car for the boys till 13. Girls under 8 or 9 when nude too or wore oversized tshirt for trip. Being naked was just part of summer for boys in intense heat with AC window units. We would go naked 1-2 years into puberty then scaled it back. One sister and brother were always naked all summer. I went to the beach naked with my sister (who was naked too) a lot when I was younger, I was already not very big down there and was a bit overweight, so a lot of the time after just a few minutes of splashing around in the water my penis would be almost entirely shrunken into my body and only a little bit of completely soft foreskin would be poking out. I went nude at the beach up to when puberty started (for me late 14), so I was a late developer and also like you I was very small anyway I was not overweight but had a bit of a fat pad around my penis and undescended testes, and overall looked much younger than my age with my clothes off, especially at 13- 14. So with the water and air I would quickly shrink and retract the same way to having a little bit of foreskin poking out and as my scrotum was pretty pink and flat anyway and would pull up more, I would quickly look like a girl. The older girls in the group thought this was hilarious especially when I occasionally got mistaken for a little girl which at 12 to 14 was acutely embarrassing.
