 As with you, my spankings are longer than the ones my husband gives to our girls. He says that there are several reasons for this -- my bottom is bigger, I'm older and should know better, and I have additional culpability in having failed to set a good model of behavior for our girls.

I've never timed our spankings but I suspect that they are bit longer than those you and your girls get, at least in terms of total time over lap. He will stop several times during the spanking to scold, lecture, ask questions (oh I dread those), and comment on the condition of our bottoms, before starting in again.
