 Julia, I think you should do it if you feel it will make your life better. People into DD know what they want. It has to be consensual.

Why do you believe you'll be at your Mom's mercy? Do you mean that, once she punishes you, she won't let go, and you'll be trapped in her web? Is that how it is for your husband? What if he decided he's had enough? He has no choice? What is this source of power your mother has?

If this is not really DD, but somehow a non-consensual relationship, and you're not craving spankings, my advice is to steer clear. I would not give your mother any ideas that you're not sure you want to live with.
