Like you, I never really thought about what a traditional marriage might look like in practice. Katie and I are still relatively early in our relationship, but I recognize a lot of those rules! Although to us, most of the rules above have not been spelled out, they are just unspoken.

I would consider our relationship to be traditional. I work, Katie stays at home. However, she is by no means confined to the home and volunteers with two local non-profits. Of course, we also have domestic discipline.

We differ from the standard definition of traditional in two ways:
1. Cooking- I went to culinary school and love to cook. I did not wind up making cooking my career, so I do the bulk of the cooking to scratch that itch.

2. Driving-I travel a lot for work so I am more than happy to let Katie drive us around town. I drive on longer journeys.
