 It is probably safe if you trust that a friend or family member will accept how you want to live your life, or if you are okay with their possible disapproval and disrespect. Only you have an idea who they are and the attitudes they have about things. Of course, many people do not understand, and will consider it unhealthy and/or perverse.

My wife and I have never shared our private lives with anyone because the people around us don't talk about that kind of thing. It would be awkward even if we had the desire to share. For me personally, spanking was a part of my youth, and something that brought me much shame. Talking about disciplinary spanking with anyone in any context is too uncomfortable for me unless I know they want to talk about it, and have some understanding of the desires that surround it.
