 I went to school in Idaho and Montana in the 60s and 70s. Principals (and some teachers) did not hesitate to paddle misbehaving students. I was generally well-behaved but got my share of paddlings over the years.

I must admit that I was always fascinated by school paddlings. It was fun, maybe even a little thrilling, when one of my classmates was taken out in the hall or called to the office for a paddling. It wasn't nearly as much fun when it was my turn! Now, many years later, even the paddlings I got are fun, if bittersweet, reminiscences.

That said, I'm not looking to relive them at this point in my life. I'm sure some girls are, Brett.
