Yes, my wife was spanked as a teen, at least through high school. I know her father threatened her with spankings after that, but I don't believe he ever needed to carry through. (I'll have to check.)

She resigned herself to spankings from her father as a teen, even an older one, because she really had no choice. In college, she was happy to be on her own and free from her parents' strict discipline. Over time, she realized that as bad as her father's spankings were, they nipped bad behavior in the bud and kept her from getting into serious trouble. By the time we were engaged, she was mulling these ideas around in her head and didn't hesitate (much) when I suggested that our married life should include DD.

As they say, the rest is history.
