My family has natural white-blond hair and very dark eyebrows and lashes. Actually my daughter's lashes are coal black, WITHOUT mascara. That's just the way we are and I'm not about to bleach anybody's eyebrows because it'd look terrible. I dont like it when you have to look for eyebrows because they've been bleached to match the hair. Just looks gross to me !

I got them all right except for the 4-5 winner. She is very pretty too so all in all I would say great group of winners! I am so impressed I think I will give this one a try. My daughter will be in the 2-3 and boy was it ever tough this month!

There were several posts a few minutes ago about someone posting their kids name over and over in predictions and a post from Lorinda saying she never predicts contests her kid is in.lolol I don't see those now. There are also some predictions that have been deleted for a couple of photo contests, not sure why. Anyone know who they were bashing earlier?

She was caught being a copycat (nobody ever said Shaenen wasn't beautiful) and the only answer mom could come up with was that people shouldnt bash HER daughter and that "For those of you saying SCs is better and she is more beautiful you are full of SH**"

Both the Main Contest and the Natural contest are low in entries right now. So not as many Contestants as Normal.
The Natural Contest may only run one time. It depends on how much interest it gets this Month. If it gets a lot it will run again. If not this may be the only chance to enter!

The contest is not laoded this Month!It actually is a few contestants short on closing. So it would be a good Month to enter.There are not as many as normal!

Stunning Faces is one of the VERY best contests we ever did. The director is so nice, helpful and honest. If you are thinking of entering a contest, this one is a must!! My daughter was lucky enough to win and we received the money as soon as we decided what we wanted, lol. I give this contest a major thumbs up!!!

In order for her to make sure she speaks to YOU, she will have to go around and say Hi to everyone in the ballroom. Does your daughter do that? I don't speak to everyone at pageants do you speak to every single person there? Wait just a second, I have a question for you, did you speak to them? If not, then you are as bad as they are. Forget them....OMG this strange lady would not speak to poor little MC and her mom at a pageant. You would think she would take the time to speak to everyone there so that she would not be bashed on the boards. Geez what nerve. You know this really pisses me off. This girl I work with said she saw me at the mall and I didn't speak to her and was mad. I said, I didn't see you at the mall and asked her where? She told me and I felt bad, I told her I didn't see her. I then said you should have said Hey to me to make sure I saw you and she said I wouldn't look at her so she refused. So then I said wait just a minute, 1st of all if I didn't LOOK at you then you know damn well I didn't see you and 2nd of all if YOU DID SEE me then you are the stuck up one because YOU DID SEE ME and CHOSE and REFUSED NOT to speak to me so lay the hell off me!!!!! And lay off MC for not speaking to you!!!! And for the record I met them at Priceless Moments and then again at Glamour Dolls and they both spoke to me and were very nice. I must agree here! I don't know the MC's very well, but my child does compete with MC and they have never been anything but nice to us. She is a little bit hard to read, but as another person said, it's probably because she has been bashed all over these boards. I can't say I blame her for sticking to who she knows. They are nice enough if you talk to them, you'd know that. I won't sign my name in fear of getting bashed myself. But if MC sees this, just know you have a VA friend!! And think back to the beginning, like TDS mini in Bristol, LOL.

A friend emailed me a list of the winners and I have to say I will not ever be entering this contest. I had went to look at the entries and it took days to see them all because of the bandwidth problem. There were a few photos that were pitiful and made me glad I did not compete back in those days and there now photos were not much better and none of those were in my top 10 and they won. These were pageant photos and should have had someone that knew a little about pageants judging them. I am sorry but the winners were way way off and this whole thing was a joke. If I was the mom of 4 of these kids I would be pissed. And Taylor should have won more then she did. I know my daughter would have a good shot in a contest like this but not this one because it looks to me like they judged it backwards. The ones that should have been last place won and visa versa. I will be letting my friends know not to enter this one.

I would like to say that we have met MC in person. She acts like a robot & is very clicky & unfriendly to children(unless of course she competes with them every weekend!)and so is her mom(unfriendly). My daughter has competed with MC & my daughter took home a higher title, in a way, I was glad because is it fair for MC to always win? No, & I agree with the photo contest statement that someone wrote:these people shouldnt enter every single one! Give others a chance. And by the way watch how MC walks when she is in her "regular" clothes, she walks on her toes, legs apart & struts like a boy. This was quite a shock to see since she "is the best one in pageants out there!" LOL LMAO!

Meagen was very friendly and her grandmother (not her mom) was nice too.
When you go through as much bashing as Mary has, you start being careful who you talk to and what you say. Everything she says is repeated, deformed and amplified. I would be weary too !! And I would also tell my child not to interact with children/parents she doesnt know.

Well Then, you must compete at every pageant with her(them), be a vendor, or a close friend! We were NEWBIES at the time & from out of town and we are very friendly. Neither her nor Meghan cracked a smile at us. We were just sitting there during awards, and Meghan walked over(in front of us, not even politely)to the person sitting next us & starting talking to them & totally acted rude to all of us sitting there. Maybe this is why they get bashed! No one wants to HANG OUT or become best friends with either of them, but for goodness sakes, atleast be polite! Even during line up, the child had her nose in the air. It is sad that she is like that at 6yrs. old. Imagine as an adult??? Oh well, whatever. In my opinion your actions on this board are much worse than anything you have described about this mom and child.
I myself teach my child not to talk to strangers and maybe thats what her mom does as well. Especially in pageants you never know what people are capable of. Take for example, YOU! For you to make caddy remarks concerning this child the way you did in your first post only leads me to believe you are extremely obsessed with her and beating her. You really should seek some help for your problem Its not healthy at all!
I know both the mom and the child and they are not what you have described at all. One encounter with someone is not enough to become best friends. Maybe you should have taken the time to try to get to know them instead of bashing them on this board. Oh and if you think that her mom cares what you have to say on here well think again. She has many friends and knows who they are. She picks them very very carefully these days!
And as far as beating her child goes it doesn't bother her one bit if someone wins and does a better job.
She knows no child is unbeatable and hers doesn't win all the time like you say she does anyway.
Your post is full of untruths about this mom and child. I have to wonder why you started this now of all times.

They are not contests at all, they are a device to lure the unsuspecting prey for the sheer pleasure of revenge seekers and those who want favors, or owe them.

They are set up to let friends win, (swap and trade) and to disgrace and humiliate the ones that have beaten the owner's little precious in other contests. That's what! I have seen it with my own eyes.

Her now swimwear is okay but I don't like her THEN one. Most of the THENs are just hideous because of the outdated clothes and hair but I don't like her pink satin looking suit in her THEN and the potbelly needed to be conceiled.

For the record, I gotta say I think re-touching has it's place. Blemishes, under-eye circles, fix a missing tooth, lashes.....but y'know, you should realize that PHOTOGENIC competitions are about who is photogenic. It is an art, just like being great at pro-am. How fair would it be to send someone else out on stage to do your child's routine because you didn't have one?
Well my child loves having her picture taken. She's good at it. It is our thing. Some kids love pro-am, mine loves the camera. She enjoys having her make-up done, takes direction very well & asks at least once a week when she can do her pictures again. It is insulting to my child & all of the other wonderfully photogenic pageant kids out there to enter a photogenic event when no "pageant photo" was ever taken.
I was on this site looking at the candids & then flipped to the divisions. The pictures of "H" look so much like the one that was in question earlier. It may be a different child. I was just curious.

The photos of Hannah don't look cut/pasted to me. They're actually pretty good !

I also think the photos look suspect. They don't look like real pro pics to me if they are, lighting is off and the digital work is as well. Maybe they are pro pics, the problem is with new photographers popping up all over and some definately not as good as others, it's hard to tell especially when the blown up photo still looks distorted as these ones do. About Tara's age? I also thought she was over 4 but not sure about that either. She may be almost 4 or something.

Why do we have to get into this AGAIN? T started doing photo contests last Jan (2002) at this time she was in the 19 - 35 mo group. She can not age more than one year in one year. I am amazed that this has to be brought up EVERY time I put her in a contest. Give it a rest. I have never & will never put my child in a group she doesn't belong in. My daughter is 43" tall. She is off the growth chart in height. She is tall, not huge. Yes, on trips or when she's sick, she has an Advent bottle with a sippy cup top that she likes for comfort. She never used a pacifier & I see nothing wrong with it. She's a kid. I just went to a pageant this weekend & saw children her age running around with pacifiers. Each child is different & has different needs.

I entered this photo of my daughter that I hate. I only bought the pic because the photog said it was the one to buy but I hate everything about it. I hate the way her face looks (nothing like her) and it looks too old, I hate the hair and the digital makeup and just the whole overall look of the photo. And guess what? IT HAS BEEN WINNING! lol It beat out some awesome photos of beautiful girls in 4 contests and I have no idea how. I am sooo thankful she won, and I could not be happier, but I just don't get it. I love my kid, but I hate some of her pics.lol I just got some newer pics and I love them and I think they are perfect, beautiful, the best ever, they have been losing big time. Go figure. I know some of the directors think I am crazy because I asked how she won.lol

I am very disapointed in the recent contests. I just came from a contest and looked at last month's winners and I am in shock. What is wrong with you people? You claim you get judges that don't know anyone but you don't bother to tell us they also don't know Jack either.lol You claim you get judges that are not online but you don't bother to tell us you get judges that are not on this planet. I am not going to name the contest I just came from because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but I am sure anyone else who has been there will know exactly which one I am talking about.

A friend and I just discussed this fact today. I would certainly like to know who is judging because some of them have just not been right. 2 years ago you could see who was going to win very easily. I know that everyone has better pics now but everyone's better pics are not winning, they are not even placing. Of my top 10 choices some are winning, but some are not getting anything. A couple that I love that win.... Raeann S. b/w hair up, Kaylee H. b/w hair up, Nicole S. pink. These photos are incredible and they deservingly win but now I can name 7 more awesome photos that no one even seems to see.

I was just wondering if anyone else notices these sort of things in photos. I see pictures predicted a lot of times and to me they have one or more of these things that IMO make them less appealing than others:

Looking to the side of or over the camera

One eye appears larger than the other (my daughter gets a lot of those in proofs and I don't consider those for enlargement)

Eyes appear slightly crossed or as if one is looking in the camera and the other is not

Noses that are retouched (or maybe it is not retouching at all) but they look like all they have is two nostrils on their face

Uneven lips

Too many "busy" things in the picture

Clothing that looks like it doesn't fit

I'm talking about full-glitz, professionally retouched photos, not natural or mommy retouching.

I totally notice these things and when I judge these things will not win. I have seen some photos with these things going on and they seem to win all over the place. When I judge I make sure they are looking directly into the camera with both eyes, not too much ugly/busy crap (pretty busy crap is okay.lol) I look for a pretty face and if it is a facial contest then that is all you need but for a total package contest I do not want to see not one flaw.lol

Photos must be recent, either the age you are now, or no more than a year old, like if you are 6 your photo can be anytime when you were 5, but not 4. That sounds good to me, or something like that. We need to ask that contest directors consider this. It is ridiculous to see a 10 year old child with photos entered in a contest from when they were age 7 and about 50 lbs lighter with a different haircolor.lol

I was just surfing some of the contests trying to decide what we might enter next month and of course being curious to see all the pics mentioned earlier. Here is my own conclusions: I agree that MC is one of the cutest kids in pageants but these new pics do not show it. That red and black one is almost hideous. Hilary's only picture I like is the pink one that is winning so much and after closer inspection it has a major flaw in her teeth. Sam's new red picture is the best she has yet. Shayla should go back to Troy and Michael. Charlsey needs new pictures that actually look like she's under 21. Does anyone else see the striking resemblance in Ainsely and Kaitlin? Kaitlins black picture is killer as is Ainsley's b&w. In both their pink pictures they could pass as sisters. This is all for now, the commentator will return later. Stay tuned for more...

I agree esp about Ainsley and Kaitlyn. I think they look similar in photos, but in person they look like twins. I think MC is one of the cutest there is but I am not crazy about the pics she has in that one contest. I am also not crazy about Charlesy's pics either. I like her older ones better.

Kailyn's 3rd and 4th photo are rather ok, nothing spectacular. Her blue one is a pale copy of RS's and I can not stand copycats. She has a beautiful face but the touch up job is terrible. Her skin is gray and blotchy, eyelashes spidery and waxy overall look.

Kaitlin's (different than Kaitlyn) probably looks like Ainsley because after Mom copied KH's pic, she also had AP's pic copied. Get original !

Megan's new pics are hideous, especially the red one, and look nothing like her. The blue one is somewhat OK, but Bonfanti should be ashamed of himself.

Taylor's mom had the new pics retouched so that her kid's eyes doesnt look like she just overdosed on LSD. Good thinking mom, but it's a little late.

Alexandria is crossed eyed and using a photo where all you can see is the eyes is not gonna help.

If I see that ribbon pic of Hilary one more time, I'm gonna puke. It's the only one she has that is remotely good, although some contest owners decided to make another one win just so they wouldn't have the same winner as anybody else. Her B&W are blotchy.

All in all, only a handful of photos stand out to me in TDF, and IMO the winner should be either Ashley, Erin, or Keeley.

The big names enter at the last minute in pageants and photo contests. They all flock to the same one so no one else has a chance. If there are 2 pageants in the same town on the same weekend, they will be doing them both, and same with photo contests, they will enter as many as possible at the same time and month after month. Then of course they win, not just pageants, but photo contests. And the photo contest directors are dirty and cheat and lie just like pageant directors. Same old song and dance.

I agree. I didn't think a day would come when I wouldn't like one of MC's photos, but this red and black one has to be the worse pic she's ever had. I like Sam's new red pic. But I liked her old red pic and maybe better. I know some people didn't like it, it was by LaGlenda I think, but I really love it. We've been on a long break, waiting for new photos which we got a couple weeks ago and started entering.
So far here's what we got

contest #1 - lost. Loosing is fine and was expected as there were great photos entered but I couldn't understand why one of the photos that was blurry and out of focus placed higher than us. Thats OK I said, next time we'll have more luck.
contest #2 - extended deadline without warning, most of the winners came from the late entries.
contest #3 - had a special a few days after we entered, allowing people to enter for less than half what we paid. there was never any mention about doing specials so we entered and paid in good faith.
contest #4 - some of the contestants (including us) were not posted. winners were posted late and the grand in our group was a photo in which the subject had clothes and accessories drawn on... a enhancement made by the photo contest owner.

I really thought those moms were complaining for nothing and I know that there are good contests out there but I really don't want to find out anymore. It's just too much energy, hope and money spent on something you have absolutely no control on.

We are taking a break and had pics made so I thought I'd try them out, thought they were great when we got them.
1st contest- didn't even place, lost to a draw on hat or something of the sort
2nd contest- which was glitz placed under a natural snapshot
3rd contest placed in wrong age division, after contest was extended without notice, and didn't even place,still ain't figured that one out

LOL. I'm not sure about giving up or not.

My daughter loves the contests, and we have waited SO LONG to finally get pro photos, they're not perfect but they're good. The good contests, the ones that I know for sure are good, we don't stand a chance.

I'm fine with loosing if the contest was fair. I'm not fine with loosing in a contest that didn't post all photos, extended deadline, had a special after several entries were already in or makes a drawn on photo win. No way.

Now I understand why most parents don't tell their kids they are entered in contests unless they win/place. My daughter is heartbroken and all I can tell her is that she didnt really loose, she just got ripped off. Doesnt make it better though.

I am not pissed off a non-pageant girl won BFI. She is pretty and online contests really have nothing to do with pageants, or at least they shouldn't, and she does have pageant-style photos. I personally don't LOVE her pics, and she is not my top choice most of the time but its not like a terrible pic of an ugly kid in wretched clothes won.lol

There is no way to know nowadays who will win and who won't. Used to you could look at the entries and the winner was pretty obvious, but now with all the contests there are it seems like no matter how many times you read the instructions to the judges, you will not be able to guess who will win unless you are going on politics. It is sad that contests have now come to this. Also, don't you just love all the big named pageant kids enter them all now and there is not one contest anymore that doesn't have at least 3 of them at any given time.

I don't care if she really does have low entries when she posts it either she knows by now everyone waits until the last minutes to enter. I agree, I think Abbi is one of the prettiest children that has ever compteted, but that UGGGG I do not like it at all!!! The only explination I can come up with is it is very natural looking, her makeup is not heavy, and bright, it is very toned down!! It dosent fit in with the other 4 at all!! Not saying they are not natura, but its just plainer I guess!!!

The person never stated a particular photo contest that I can see. What it looks to me like they were saying is that you can knock a photo without pissing off a bunch of moms as easily as if you knock their kid.lol in other words if it is the photo that lost that is one thing but when the kid's face lost, especially to an obviously facially ungifted kid, parents will get upset. And if a kid has an obvious problem, someone will pick it out and name them on the boards. I personally dont enter online contests at all because I think they are too easily rigged when you dont know who owns them or who judges. You seem upset, are you afraid that your kid may be one of the ones that they are complaining about recently? Or did you mean to reply to one of the other posts that do name a contest?

I think all the photo contests should go back to the Overall Picture and NOT just facial beauty! We ALL KNOW that facial beauty is TOO subjective! What I think is pretty, you may not and vise versa. At least with hair, clothes, overall appeal, it is at least a tad less subjective. JMHO.

It was a repost from another board, and not meant as a bash but as PRO/CONS of each photo.If you look at BFI's Top 3 you'll see whoever posted it definitely had an "eye" for it.
Neither Charlsey, Caitlin, Deidra, and Paige didnt make top 3 because no matter how gorgeous they are there IS something wrong with their photos. I find Charlsey's fake teeth extremely disturbing, to the point where it ruins the photo. No 3 year old has perfectly lined teeth, and the ones they added are too big and too numerous for her mouth. I also found Deidra's bold, purple color to be overpowering. It doesnt mean the children aren't gorgeous !

I am sorry but I don't find large jaws, eyes too close, and buck teeth attractive. I don't understand how these so called facial contests come to their decisions, and can be so far off from what some of us see as beautiful. Some PERFECT faces were overlooked and some far from perfect and not so beautiful faces were chosen. I think these people are saying they are facial so that they can use that eye of the beholder crap as an excuse to let their friends win.

I am sorry but I agree. It is hard to see how the judges can overlook such obvious facial flaws in a facial contest and ignore perfectly beautiful, perfect faces.

Yes you are right they are all beautiful in their own way but that is not the rule. You cant judge apples and oranges. You cant score a pretty in their own way kid higher than a universal/all around beautiful perfect kid.

Now it says the deadline was yesterday and there were only 2 entries, but it says you can't see them until after the deadline, which it is, but you still can't view them. What I want to know is, what entries did I see the other day? Was that last month's entries that were still up? Does anyone know? I am sooo confused. Thanks.

I must say I have now seen some of the most wonderful photos out there. Just when I thought it could not get any better I have now seen even better than ever. My fave newest pics are Nicole S., Savanna W., and Hilary F. I am pretty sure that T/M took the one of N.S. but what about the other 2? Does anyone know who took these photos? I am impressed girls!
