Once again, I want to thank everyone who responded to the posts I put up in October. It seems like a lifetime ago now. I had met someone in chat, talked to him for nine months and then flew to meet him. We spent four days together. I thought things had gone well between us, but he didn't feel the same. Less than a week later, in an e-mail, he told me he didn't think he could love me and basically gave me the old heave-ho. (I think you're a wonderful person but,....you know the line) I had a mixture of feelings, I was angry, hurt, disppointed, questioning myself. The fact that after he met me, he decided he didn't care about me anymore put my self-esteem straight into the toilet, to put it mildly. Despite this, I had a job, I was going to school, and I poured my focus into that, trying to stick to a routine. It's been nearly six months now and time has brought me peace. I love my job (always had before), am now attending graduate school and very content with my life. Some very wise people in here told me time would heal. I didn't believe you at the time, but you were totally right. Anyone in here feeling lousy...things will get better. Even better, I've met someone who lives in the same city as me. Don't get me wrong, we're friends who for the moment are enjoying each other's company and taking things slowly. I just enjoy the companionship and having someone to share things with. Tom...you were right....it is much nicer to get a hug from someone when they're right here with you. There's no comparison. Thanks again to everyone.
