The ship Periwinkle had departed from the Flower Islands a few days back. Joseph the Bellmaker, his wife Violet,and their daughters Mariel and Baby Ariel were standing on the deck. Suddenly lightning struck. Mariel screamed! "Gabooooooool!" The cry flooded the night with terror. The ship rocked. Violet and Ariel toppled into the sea. "Violet! Ariel!" cried Joseph. But his wife and daughter were long gone, washed away by the waves. Within minutes, Mariel and Joseph were captured by Gabools horderats. All waited for dawn, which would reveal their fates.
