In reply to: Willow the Brit 's message, "Hey, a squirrel, you'd be in my year, year 8. We don't get treated as bad as year 7s but it's still not good. Lyra, lets get this straight, my school sucks. We have loads of hyped tests and exams and we never get enouth money or resources. To be honest, i don't think the politicions(Sp) Well, most of them anyway, actually care 'bout us one shred. And our canteens are lousy!" on 09:15:43 10/17/02 Thu

You can go to preschool when you are about 3 years old and after that you can go to Junior Kindergarten which is 4-5 (and is in a different school). When you are 5-6 you are in Senior Kindergarten. 6-7 years old is Grade 1, 7-8 is Grade two, 8-9 is Grade Three where you have this Grade Three Testing thing that is done all across my province (as far as I know), then when you're 9-10 you do Grade 4 and you start taking French classes. 10-11 is Grade 5, 11-12 is Grade Six and you do Grade 6 testing (like Grade 3 only harder), 12-13 is Grade Seven and now you enter the transition years where you do History and Geography. 13-14 (my age group) is Grade 8 and now you will go on to High School next year. 14+ is High School until you pass Grade 12 (we used to have Gr. 13 but they cut it out and now our work is a LOT harder. It sucks!). So at my school you can go from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 and not leave the school. Preschool is not manditory, but most people have their children do it anyways. I did 2 years of preschool but no Junior Kindergarten.

ooc: Ugh tell me about it Willow! Our school gives us chips (this is fries in the US ^_^) and calls it healthy food! Yeah, we work REALLY hard on out GCSE's and try to get good grades. When we do they suddenly decide that the tests are too easy and make them harder!!! Then to make it look like the A Levels (tests after GCSEs) are still hard they muck about with the marking! One boy in our school sent his A* coursework off to the exam board and got a U!! (NT)Lancepaw who hates English schools but loves being a prefect ^_^20:24:44 10/17/02 Thu
