Friendship,
The word now so sweet held a bitter edge not long ago,
It made me feel cold inside,
Like a glacier of ice,
For I had no good friends to speak of
My friends had all betrayed me,
Left me lost and alone,
Filled with pent up heartache,
Angry, yet helpless
Then, suddenly, like spring awakening,
Someone made me smile,
Soon I was smiling a lot and laughing too,
I have so much gratitude for those who made me happy,
Their honesty, loyalty and friendship mean so much to me,
So I say thankyou a thousand times, to those who taught me the meaning of friendship.
