Rosha ran across the green fields near the Grapling Mountains. Yellow, blue, pink, white, and red flowers bloomed everywhere, matching the pale blue sky with puffs of clouds surrounding the sun. Occasionaly they passed trees, towering, their limbs reaching for the sky. Little outcrops of rocks were coming more often and Rosha called a halt near a boulder surrounded by flowers and a tree on the left side. "We'll stay here, okay?"
Furtill sat moodily on the grass. "Yup. What's fer lunch? I'm starved."
Argathall looked at him and sat down on a producing tree root. She blew air out of her nose and looked at the sky, as if for reference. "Nothing, pot bellie! You ate all of th' salad stuff! Ah, well. We'll jus' 'ave stuff off th' land." She looked around, and then in the tree. She climbed it with ease and came down, her hands full of apples. "Great spot, Rosha! Apple tree. I found a nice spot of trees, full o pears, banannas, an' peaches."
Thorin looked at Rosha and asked, "Could me an' Argathall go get some?"
Rosha leaned back against the boulder and nodded. "Sure, take bellie-on-two-legs with ya'. I'll take a quick nap. Oh, an', don't be too long." She took out a sword and let her eyelids close.
Thorin, Argathall, and a moody Furtill went off to the left. "I hate nature hikes. I even hated-"
"SHUTTUP!" Thorin yelled.
"Yeah. You need to shut your stupid pie hole!" Argathall added.
"You!" Furtill screamed back.
Thorin and Argathall rolled around in fits of laughter. "Ahoooohahahaahahaaa! You, you, you, ahaaahaaa!" Argathall giggled.
"Hahahahahaha! Er, hmph! Okay, you, scream like, like, a girl! Hhhhaaaaaaahaaaaahaaaaaa!" Thorin held his stomoch in laughter.
When they came back, they found an awake Rosha, with a few slain Ripplets around. Ripplets were lions and lizards. She put her newly cleaned sword away behind her cloak and took out an empty haversack. She stuffed the fruits in it and looked around. She spotted an unusual plant and pulled it up. It's roots were a potatoe. She pulled more of them out, tied the haversack tight, and started off. "More scum in this area. Good thing I'm a light sleeper. They had a few nice short daggers. I took 'em. We'll pick a better spot, further away."
Furtill moaned. "I dont want to go anywhere. Let's just stay here an' battle."
Argathall turned on him. "Shuttup, mommas boy! You need an attutude ajustment!" She turned back around and caught up to Rosha.
Furtill was quiet and on the alert after that. He took out a dagger he had taken from a Ripplet and cut out plants that had edible roots along the way. "Rosha, we could go North a bit. That would take us to the mountains faster. But, it would take us through the Thurapho reighn. After that, it would be the cliffs and hidden cravases."
Rosha looked back and slowed back so she was by him. She put an arm around his shoulders and looked at him. "Good thinkin', although, I never knew you had anythin' between those ears 'sept ear wax. We'll tack North."
"But, Rosha, that'll take us past, Dark Forest, Thracks, Wifts, Urams, an' Xcareo forests. It'll make th' quest longer. Oh, we want vengance!" Thorin stated.
"Yep. I have the same likeness as Rosha. Even though we have forest specialties, but, Dark Forest, ugh! Our specialties would stick out like a sore thumb. You guys'll be more camoflauged than us!" Argathall shuddered at the names of the forests they had to pass.
"But!" Rosha commented, "But! Zerons Pass is along the way. You know, in th' Mahakoo forest."
Argathall looked at her blankly. Then brightened. "Oh! That place! Yeah! We could pick up Gurrat. He's a good as weaponsman as you are weaponswoman, Rosha!"
Rosha started running again, twards a black forest in the distance. Darker shapes massed around.
~~~At The Edge Of Dark Forest~~~
Rosha took out her weapons and gave them to each one present. They took their first step in and didn't stop running. The dark shapes followed, armed with the outline of throwing spears and bows and arrows. An arrow hissed passed Rosha's head and she started sprinting. "RUUUUNNN!"
The shapes kept following.
