Golden shafts of light were slanted through the green canopy of Mossflower Wood. It was a beautiful summer's day. The bushes were a riot with berries and flowers. the grass a lush green. Only the sound of a great creature walking along no path in sight. This named creature was Darlene the traveling weaver of tales. She was a tall and musculer badger, ripe with young age. Her fur was like all other badgers. No special marks or anything. She wore a simple forrest green tunic with a black belt. Her only weapon was a large and great staff, fit to her size.
Darlene was happy to be able to breath such fresh air on a beautiful day like this. She knew very well where she was going. She was on her way to none other than the legendary Redwall Abbey. They were probably expecting her. Darlene made regular visits to the abbey. It was like clock work. A lark sung in the distance.
"Ah! What a glorious day. Not too far from the abbey now!" she sighed with relief,"Been travelin' for days!"
Darlene lumbered on through the woods. Not a care in the world could befall her. She had plenty of stories to tell; she always did. Ever nearing the abbey, she was cooking up over exagerated details, ever nearing. (Continued..)
