** Trapped **
Chapter 1
My head spun violently, as if it was trying to cast me to the underworld. I was walking on a fine line between life and death. My sight had already gone days ago, and the world was dark by my eye’s eternal eclipse. Memories and thoughts passed through my feeble mind. I cried, laughed, and regretted them as I recalled them on myself. Words passed through my ears like a slight whisper, a leaf in a strong breeze. It was Valrie. Ah, how I loved her. And how yet I would not be able to love her again, nor ever again to see her warm smile to bright up my life. So it shall be as dark as the world was for my eyes now.
“Henry, I love you. I’ve loved you forever…” I heard a muffled sob, and her head sank down the hospital bed to mine. I could feel the bitter warm tears on her skin.” I’m not really leaving, I’m going to stay with you” I pointed at my heart. ”Right here”. Her tears streamed down onto my face.” Valrie, What do you think I want you do be like for the rest of your days? Happy. I want you to be happy. You can’t spend the rest of your life sobbing like this”. I couldn’t see but I could feel her nod.
The steady beeping of the heart pulse systems slowly turn to a long hum. My heart gave a little jolt and I was dying. I heard Valrie scream and the doctor push around more buttons.” Valrie, I love you” – “I love you too Henry!” She sobbed back”. And with that, I gasped a last breath, saving it for the world to come. Finally my breathing came to a stop.
I wreathed and wriggled like a caught fishing fighting for air. It had felt as if I was placed in a box full of freezing ocean water. Shadows moved about as I was thrown into a gray misty canyon. At least I thought it was a canyon because I saw no walls, only the dark skies. All around me, black shadows wriggled around like tadpoles in the air. They whispered human words. I tried to scream, but only a shudder came forth. I was one of them! Then, blackness came and I could not see a thing.
Ah, I was in such a comfortable position. The room was warm and the steady breathing of Valrie calmed me. Suddenly I jolted awake. I was dead! I looked around, and I was not home. I was in a jar. Yes you heard me right. A jar. And I was floating in it. I was frozen inside a jar! Yet, I could see with my eyes out of the jar. Strange. The room in which I was in was white and small nothing was in it but me, the jar, and a bunch of wires around the jar. Was this like some horror alien abduction movie.
Suddenly A figure came in. My eyes widened as large as golfballs. I tried to move but I was stuck, frozen in the water. The thing was tall and skinny sporting a silken looking black cloak with the hood drawn over his head. Suddenly he pressed a white hand against the glass. With a hiss the water around me melted slowly draining through a hole in the ground. I screamed and jumped around the walls trying to find a way out like a hamster. But it was too late. Colorful wires shot out from the top of the bottle and bound my arms and legs. A snaky hiss came from the creature.” It’sss about time you woke up”.
