OK, this is not really Redwally, due to the last couple of lines, but I threw in some molespeech and stuff anyway. haha, apologies to any sparrows...
A Warning to Sparrows, on Visiting a Mole
A pretty little mole,
Living down a hole,
Decided to make lunch;
‘Twas far too late for brunch.
She chopped up some mushrooms and plants very fine,
Then sat down at table and started to dine.
She had had her first mouthful (‘Twas really quite good),
When a small mouse came in, and asked her for food.
She had served him up some; they had started to talk,
When in came a hedgehog, out for a late walk.
Said he, “I would like to sit down at your table,
Would you give me some food? Are you willing? And able?
The mole curtsied nicely, she said with a grin,
“Of curse ye'll 'ave food, zurr! Just coom yoo roight en!”
The three beasts were sitting, happy as the day’s long,
When in came a sparrow, singing a song.
He would have been welcomed, had he been a bunny,
But woe to the bird that thought the mole funny.
Birds and moles had been enemies, for centuries before,
So that nice little mole kicked the bird out the door!
The poor little bird flew away, quite ruffled,
And through the mole’s door, the beasts’ laughing was muffled.
So woe to the birds who think molemaids are thick!
They’ll be kicked out the door, very sudden and quick.
((The third to last line should be part of the one before it... I know the metre for the first couple lines is off, but... taa daa! Did anybody like it?))
