If only the sun would never set,
on the world and the rest of our lives.
If only pain was never caused,
and wounds didn't feel like knives.
If only betrayal never existed,
and honesty lived within us all.
If only life wasn't so complicated,
and happiness would never fall.
If only flowers would never wilt,
and all would live in harmony.
If only sour did not come with sweet,
and pain would not follow anything.
If only our lives could be simpler,
no drama, no hurt, no pain.
If only clouds did not fill the sky,
and upon our joy not come rain.
If only everyone could communicate,
and between would not be a wall.
If only no wrong could be made,
and understanding existed in all.
But 'if' is 'if,' and not reality,
and evil exists, though it's rued.
All are doomed to their own faults,
and that is the bittersweet truth.
