THIS MAN MUST BE CRAZY TO BYPASS BOBBY ACKBERALI FOR AN AMERICAN GUY WHOSE DESIGNS ARE REALLY NOT THAT IMPRESSIVE. I REALLY HAVE TO WONDER. My gosh, his evening wear is horrible. Am I supposed to just assume he is going to get an evening gown right. If I was Gabby I would call up Bobby Ackberali or Anya and ask either to pull something together in about 2 weeks, fly out if she has to and get the fittings down because I am expecting a disaster come MU prelims if she wears a Von Vonni's dresse. Trinis in general have the consensus that in terms of a pageant gown for MU his previous work looks like CRAP but my gosh the taste level of some of their suggestions from his collection is really poor. I think the only Trinbagonian Missosology poster with a level of taste suitable for MU I have seen is Cello. All I can say is, if Von Vonni is the competition gown designer then most likely Gabby will be clapping come MU final. I hope for once Gabby OPENS HER MOUTH and gives Ian a piece of her mind if he tries to put her in a piece of crap for the MU prelims. I am just hoping she is not distracted by the "bubble" of YES people around the pageant team that will praise a mediocre gown as if it was the best thing they have ever seen. Gabby needs to wear a gown that look light and has great movement when she is walking. I am just at a total loss as to who in their right mind would pick Von Vonni. I hope Mr. Lee gets a Bobby Ackberali design. I am just dumbfounded at the fact we have so many talented local designers but yet we chose an American from NYC (wonder if he has ties to MU headquarters) to design the gown when everything he has produced thus far is certainly not of MU calibre. Mr. Lee needs to realize that MUorg does not give a rat's behind about who designs her gown. Gabby will not be wearing the MUSA sash so they need to realize it did not work with LaToya so let's not screw Gabby over by getting a crap gown from someone who obviously is not up to the worldclass standards. International blog. Folks, I am sorry but I don't see anything good. Yes the hot pink is bold but I don't see anything that indicates this gown will help Gabby place in the top 10 in prelims. Gabby is very beautiful- arguable one of the top 5 most beautiful- but this gown does nothing to help her. From what I am seeing in the pics, I think Anya Ayoung Chee could have done a much better design if given two weeks. If the gown ends up looking great I will say so but for now I am TOTALLY WORRIED!
