It sounds as though this "unmarked car" was merely a clearly marked cruiser,
absent of a roof mounted light bar. Otherwise, from what was reported it
sounds as though they put on a proverbial "Light Show" along with a lot of
wail, yelp, and hi/low. How reasonable is it of this naive 18 year old girl,
presumably a licensed operator of a motor vehicle in that state, to think
that this vehicle represented anything other than a duly authorized,
governmental vehicle in the lawful performances of their duties. Do all law
enforcement vehicles have to have roof mounted light bars? How about just
taking the small, Federal teardrop rotator and placing it on the roof (ALA
Kojak). I'll bet she would have stopped then! Her weak, self manifested
feelings of those moments do not mitigate any of her actions and violations
of law. A very weak case for her, on both the civil and motor vehicle sides
of the house. Next case!

Lt. William (Bill) Parks, BS, JD
(retired)
