there was this particular incident which got me thinking real hard abt the whole issue of euthanasia, not tat one of my relative is dying or requesting for a premature death.... hahaha this gan chu came from a dyin cockroach rather. heheee

i was waiting for the lift and i saw this cockroach struggling. it was almost flattened with its legs kickin up. it seems to be in much agony. i was tempted to step on it n end its sufferings. but i dun wan to b the one to end its life. it is as if i would be the one who ultimately kill it even though i am not the one to step on it in the first place.

on one hand, it is a very humanistic consideration to end the agonizingly painful trauma for the cockroach.

on the other hand, life is precious. how can one juz make the decision to end someone else's life? (not like the cockroach can convey that desire to me but i guess it will prefer death as much)

well, in the end, i couldnt bear with the sin to be the one who ends another's life, i went into the lift without alleviatin the cockroach's pain.....

reflecting n extrapolating my thoughts to humans' lives, i tink i will opt for euthanasia if i have the choice. imagine being old n sick with a terminal illness with no hope of recovery n an increasing reliance on life-extension machines which do not improve on your quality of life.

and i tink i will prob commit suicide if the pains of livin are more than the joys of it. this is actually very subjective, isnt it? wat seems orite to u mayb a terrible ordeal for me. so we cant really judge those who committed suicides n say things like, why they so stupid? life is beautiful.... (err.... with some reference to leslie chueng)this may sound tragic but i treasure quality of life alot n if life deteoriates tat badly for me, i see no point in living mah. hheheehee but dun worry, i am not contemplating tat. juz tat this topic seems to tie in with euthanasia. euthanasia is oso a form of suicidal act mah.

this is a heavy topic.......
