Subject: Power Corrupts; Bob Huggins Corrupts Absolutely

I was wondering if any journalists are recent arrivals here can confirm or deny if there was ever an accident report in the Eugene Land case. Should we just take Coach Huggins word that it was a car accident? Reporters in this town are either cowed or just plain lazy. The Bob Huggins Political Machine has highlighted the problem of these mega-media mergers and it is that there are no media watchdogs. Traditionally, the print press fancy themselves the guardians of democracy, as Woodward and Bernstein when in fact it's all cozy relationships and reciprocity. Hey Bob, do an interview and I'll portray you as a regular guy who swills beer in his driveway by a portable fireplace. This is the same issue that surfaced last year with the L.A. Times and its coverage of its partner the Staples Center. I'm sure Lance McPhalluster and his cohorts at Clearchannel will ignore this story and even scoff at the fine work of The Bob Huggins Machine. My question to the "professionals" is this: Where were they on this story?

[> You are right on the mark FD. No traffic citation exists because no traffic accident ever happened. Does anyone question the coverup? It doesn't happen. If it wasn't for this board, nobody would ever hear about it. -- jc, 13:41:22 08/16/01 Thu

[> Yes, I have heard second hand from inside sources that Land jumped out of a window, but it was a party being broken up by the cops. I have also been told that Eugene is a rocket scientist.s a -- BadBadKubitan, 14:49:31 08/16/01 Thu

[> It is true, Eugene has some serious problems that he needs to straighten out and get his life together. Was running around with the wrong crowd and doing things he should not have been doing and eventually screwed his life up when he jumped out that 2nd story window to avoid being caught with drugs. -- Blue Backer, 11:51:59 08/17/01 Fri
