FYI: Gary's board is now "moderated" board and will require a sign up.
Gary: Your solution is simply short sighted and will ultimately hurt your board in the long term. Like energy price caps, it will simply not work to your desired effect. New users will not want to take the time to register. Old posters will not want to be moderated or have you approve their posts. Everyone understands your frustrations with the personal attacks. Unfortunately, your cure may be more drastic than the symptoms and (I believe) will negatively impact the amount of posts/interest in your board.

NJNP is jumping the gun a bit. My board IS moderated, and I've asked the posters if they prefer a password system or moderated status. I'm tired of the lunatics, assholes and morons that drop by, and letting every post stay up, no matter how insulting or stupid, is NOT an option on my board. This board should not be about the moderator. He named the board after himself. He censors debate. The topic continually comes back to Gary Griffin, instead of Xavier Basketball. This is the same man that has attacked others freely in the past, and now he has reinvented himself as the gatekeeper of good taste and the spokesman for the program. I don't want him to have my email address. He complains about his family being attacked, but he has used personal threats in the past against his own enemies. I wouldn't want my personal privacy violated because I didn't subscribe to the Gary Griffin adgenda. How many people use their real names on this board? How come that Gary attacks only annonimity of only the posters he disagrees with? The man is living proof that it is foolish to disclose your real identity on an internet message board. I don't agree with the attacks on Gary's family, but he himself is not above personal attacks. When the chickens come home to roost, let he without sin cast the first stone. I think that we could use a neutral moderator, (one without an agenda), to moderate this board. Xband would be a good choice, he is fairly vanilla. Otherwise, this board will constantly be the saga of Gary Griffin, and the board should not be about the moderator. I agree with some of the trash that has been taken down, but I have seen legitimate points taken down since Griffin took over. I am sick of the whole debate. I think that he should try to keep his inflated ego in check. Griffin may be good for starting a debate, but he makes a terrible moderator.
