Subject: Pete Gillen

Surprisingly I didn�t see any report of the article on ESPN.com about Pete Gillen�s new contract negotiations on this or the other board all day. I for one am very happy for Pete and feel that he is worth every penny that Virginia will pay him. He was a great asset to Xavier both on and especially off the court during his years at X. While in school the only thing that I could count on more than skipping every Friday morning claass(and most classes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) because of a hangover, was having Pete sit behind me every Sunday night at 10 pm mass.

Hopefully time will show that we have a similar coach in Thad, which is able to recruit quality players, and also contributes as an ambassador for the university. The last thing we need is a pretentious, brooding coach that is unable to both win the big game and control the on court actions of his players. Granted during Skip�s reign our players weren�t beating their girlfriends and screwing beagles but I think we can have this and a team that wins an occasional big game.
