Subject: Hidden gems in the Book of Mormon

Yesterday I had one of those revelations that blows the mind. I now know what day Jesus was born. The Book of Mormon tells us. Mirl Edwards already had this figured out and I had very vague recollections that she had written an article about it.

None of this clicked until I began to learn about the Feasts of the Lord in Leviticus 23. Everything is clicking into place.

I will walk you through it.

Samuel the Lamanite prophesied of the signs that would come to the Book of Mormon people to let them know when Jesus was born.

The time was approaching and it hadn't happened yet. The enemies of God were planning to kill all the believers on a certain day if it didn't happen soon.

The signs came.

3 Nephi 1:
22 And it came to pass that the sun did rise in the morning again, according to its proper order; and they knew that it was the day that the Lord should be born, because of the sign which had been given. The Nephites believers started keeping track from that very day, sort of a new calendar.

3 Nephi 1:
44 And six hundred and nine years had passed away, since Lehi left Jerusalem; and nine years had passed away, from the time when the sign was given, which was spoken of by the prophets, that Christ should come into the world.
45 Now the Nephites began to reckon their time from this period when the sign was given or from the coming of Christ;

On the fourth day of the 34 year of this new calendar the Book of Mormon people had a great storm. This is the storm that changed the face of the land. This was the storm that was the sign of Jesus death. This was Nisan 14 the first month of the Jewish year, the day that the Passover lamb was killed. Jesus died on Nisan 14.

3 Nephi 4:6 And it came to pass in the thirty and fourth year, in the first month, in the fourth day of the month, there arose a great storm, such an one as never had been known in all the land;

This means that Jesus' birthday was Nisan 10. What is significant about Nisan 10? This is the day that the lamb to be sacrificed was brought into the houses of the people or into the temple to be inspected. It had to be a perfect lamb.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem. The shepherds who came to see him were actually Levite shepherds raising the lambs that were sacrificed in the temple. They are the first ones who came to inspect Jesus, the new lamb that was born.

This means that Jesus was born on Nisan 10, right before Passover.
