The conversation between Vile, and Dr. Doppler continued...
"Okay, can we can forget about Sigma for now? NOT AN ISSUE!"
"Very well Vile. What else do you have to say?"
"I've completed my mission, so now what do you want me to do?"
"Well, that's interesting. I'd like to introduce you to my new employees! I have hired eight specialists to help me run things here. Experts in weapons, armor, fuel, and energy. Not to mention some other very interesting, and talented individuals. I'm very proud of all of them. You'll want to become good friends with Razor Mantis."
"Never heard of him.", Vile folded his arms over his chest.
"Well, he's going to be a good friend of your's soon. He makes Mechs for all kinds of uses."
"Really?", Vile's voice picked up. He sounded very interested. Doppler cracked a twisted smile, and stroked his wiry beard. "Do you remember the Goliath Mech you had?"
"Yes.", Vile shrugged. He was almost curious...
"We've been working on one that will put that scrap pile to shame! It is almost ready Vile. Such is my gratitude for your destroying Sigma."
"And will I get a chance to use it? I still have a score to settle with Mega Man X; and Zero...If I ever find them."
"Ah yes...that leads me to my other project. I've captured Mega Man X. I'm holding him in the vault right now!"
"X?! You're not kidding? WHERE IS HE? He's mine...I'm gonna kill..."
"YOU'LL DO NO SUCH THING! Sit down. I'm scanning him. I'm analyzing his data. When I am done, I'm going to be able to know all of his secrets."
"How did you get X?", Vile finally asked.
"It is a long story, but to sum it up...he fell victim to a bad anti-virus program I gave him. It cured him of his virus, but then installed some security bypass codes which allow me to analyze his data. It also makes him comatose. Oh, wait?"
"What now?", Vile scoffed. He was getting irritated by all of this.
"I had developed a system which would return him to his normal condition. I called it the X-System."
"Why would you do a thing like that?"
"Just in case I could not analyze his data correctly, I needed a back-up plan for the next phase of my project."
"Which is....", Vile inquired.
"To clone him. Or, in other words..to build replicas of him to train the others in combat."
"Where is this X-System?"
"I think I left it with him in the vault. It was on the table next to Saber Wolf's Body."
"Saber Wolf!? Didn't he die?"
"You heard of that? I'm surprised. Anyway....yes, he was destroyed, but he was very powerful. I need his help in this operation. He's nearly completed. I just need to install his control chip, and re-animate him. Vile, please go down to the vault, and get the X-system for me will you?"
"Don't be so careless okay? I don't want to have to clean up after you all the time."
"I've just been working too hard lately. I'm going to rest now. Bit and Byte are in charge. They are over in the Power Plant helping Thunder Ram, my energy specialist. After you get the X-System back, bring it to them. They will know what to do with it."
With that, Vile got up, and ran out the door. Dr. Doppler went through a side door, into his private resting chambers, and sealed the room shut. (to be continued..)
