(RX, that's ok, I get what you're saying. In any case I present to you Vile's shocking actions!)
There had been a brief intermission. The crowd was able to break away for an hour, and enjoy some of the attractions Dr. Doppler had set in place. The island had visitors both Reploid, AND human, which made it an interesting mix. Some patrons went to the local restaurants, while others went to the visitors center to buy merchandise. Holo recordings of thier favorite fighters were already available in the gift shop.
Vile used the time to go to the vault, on a secret mision of his own doing. In his hands he carried, none other than the "X-System." Dr. Doppler had not asked him to do this, he was acting on his own. He had no regard for Doppler's plans. Instead, he thought he might try something. The system activated, and set to work immediately. Doppler had explained that it would take about 5 to seven minutes for it to work. That time had passed quick enough. Mega Man X opened his eyes. Much to his surprise, he saw Vile stronger than ever before, staring back at him.
"Vile! What the-?",X started to yell. Vile silenced him, and interrupted him. "Mega Man X. Do not speak, only listen. You are in New Doppler Town, Dr. Doppler's private island."
"Doppler? He's still alive?"
"As am I. Now be quiet! Listen. If I were to kill you Dr. Doppler would surely have me destroyed. But you have been here far too long for my taste. I do not want you here on this island anymore. But unfortunately Doppler is holding a fighting tournament, and security is unbelievebly thick.
There is no way I could get you out of here myself."
"If that's true, then how did you get in here?"
"They do not question MY authority," Vile hissed, "But you are the MOST recognizable Reploid in the world. You would surely be spotted, and taken back into custody. Doppler would not like me tampering with his things. I do not care about his plans to clone you though. I am not going to allow that!"
"Wait, clone me? Why would Doppler want to clone me?"
"To see how strong his fighters are. If they could beat a clone of you in combat, he would surely know that they could beat you in a real battle. In any case I believe that you are the most dangerous liability to his entire arrangement here. So I have released you from your bonds."
"Vile, do you know how I got here?"
"You were infected with the Sigma virus."
"Sigma? Is he here too?"
"No Sigma is dead, I destroyed him myself. He deserved it after the way he discarded me. In any case Doppler gave you a faulty anti-virus through a clever deception. It was not meant for you, but it turned out to be for his benefit."
"But how did I get HERE?"
"The anti-virus deleted the influence Sigma had on you, only to replace it with Doppler's influence."
"A Doppler virus?"
"You could call it that."
"Vile, why are you telling me this? You hate me."
"Yes, I would kill you now if I could, but I would rather have you earn the pleasure of fighting with me."
"Earn the pleasure? What?", X asked with an agitated tone.
"You will enter Doppler's fight tournament, or I will kill you where you stand."
"Hmm. Doesn't look like I have much choice. Where do I sign up?", X smirked.
"You just did."
Vile trained his shoulder cannon on him, and marched him out of the vault. Sure enough, security did spot him, and question him. Vile wasn't willing to risk Doppler's displeasure by letting X go. But, it would most certainly please Doppler; this twist of events. Mega Man X would no longer be needed here. Doppler had collected more than enough information on him. Better to see if X was even worth cloning!
X was taken to the fighter's quatrters, where he was given a place to rest, and was already included in the roster.
Vile went back to Doppler to explain the measures he had just taken. Doppler was angry at first, but Vile hade explained it this way. "Think about it, if he dies, he wasn't worth cloning in the first place, right? And if he wins, he was worth it. After I kill him, you can recreate him as you choose. A loyal servant to your cause. You can rule the world! Just imagine!"
Yes indeed, Doppler like that very much. "Yes, I can see it now. My own utopia, where Reploids can live as one! I will make it so!" (to be continued)
