"Zeon as you know, has just won his first battle, but there will be no rest for him yet!", the female reporter smiled.
"That's right, coming up next we will see Zeon in one of the most anticipated match ups ever. The Endurance Run!"
--There was the sound of, "Ooooh", from the crowd. The endurance run was open as a test of strengh. It was not a necessary part of the qualifying run, but WAS open to any brave enough to choose it. The winners of the run were promised higher slots in the ranking, and therefore, would have a better chance of fighting only the best fighters. Vile would most definitely be on that list. If only Zero could just fight him, and then find X. He could stop wasting his time here, and get on to more important matters.
The run was a long tunnel dug into the ground. The entrance, and exit were above ground, in two dome like structures. They each had a glass ceiling, as did the tunnel where the contestant ran through. All they had to do was make it to the end. Contestants who were prospectful candidates for the run were not allowed to view another's progress. The idea being that they might see where the traps were, and gain the advantage.
Zero did not need any help though. He ran down the ramp into the tunnel. It was dark at first, but then the lights came on. A crowd could see him on a huge viewing screen as well as through the glass. It was time for him to make the run.
