Zero Versus Raiyinjin:
Zero was decked out in costume still. He wore his black armor, and what amounted to a helmet, and shoulder irritation. Without a doubt, his costume was more annoying to him than anything. The shoulder armor fit over his head, and covered his chest, but it was very heavy. It featured shoulder plates which were covered with spikes. His original helmet had been covered by a modern version of an ancient viking helmet. Two black horns on the side, and a round, green crystal eye in the center. They hampered his mobility, but Zero was still able to make due with them on. He estimated only a 43 percent reduction in his mobility, speed, and efficiency. The pay off was a 68 percent increase is defense capabilities. Besides, he was so good, people believed that he was Zeon, and had no idea who he really was. He sported some shin gaurds, which also were bristled with spikes. The armor gleamed as the lights from the arena illuminated him.
His opponent was also a very fear inspiring sight. Raiyinjin was his name. He more closely resembled a Gundam than a Reploid, looking as he did. He was about seven feet tall, and adorned in solid, gleaming white titanium armor. The only interruption of the white was at his joints, which were coated with a matte black finish. His head almost looked like it had a pair of miniature, swept back wings which came out at the sides. His mouth was covered by a face plate, and his eyes glowed a fierce red. His shoulders were fitted with wings. Not bird like by any means. Rather, these looked almost as the blades of a multifaceted sword. His legs were strong, and wide, and sprouted thrusters on the back, near the ankles. In his hands he held a sword, also white, and just about as tall as he was. In his other hand, he held a long, and ominous looking buster cannon. Zero knew that it would only take one hit by that cannon to end the match. Even so, Raiyinjin just stood there, motionless, staring right back at him. The light hit him also, but it made a rainbow glare around him, because of his armor's reflectivity.
The match was about to begin. Zero knew that his opponent was more of an airial combatant than anything. He wasn't sure how he was going to fight, being on the ground the whole time. Even so, the ruls did not specify how the match had to go, just that the winner was the one left standing. Zero did not like the idea that he could lose, and never even get a hit in. After all, you can't hit what you can't reach.
The moment the match began, Raiyinjin leapt straight up into the air. Zero tried to blast him with his arm cannon, but Raiyinjin was too fast! The shots missed, and Zero cursed himself. Raiyinjin tried his first attack. He got up high enough, so that he was out of Zero's range, then he attached his sword to the fitting on his back. Using both hands, he held the cannon, and fired a blast. A huge ball of energy crushed the ground where Zero had stood. Fortunately he had dodged the attack, but it was too close for comfort. Raiyinjin kept him running for a while, blasting at him from the air. The rules did say that he couldn't saty up there for ever. He saw the timer on the large score board in the arena below. It was time for him to come down and fight. His cannon's main power cells had been depleted anyway, so he dropped it, and let it hit the ground. It was durable enough to survive the fall, and just stayed there on the ground. Zero knew that if he were to go over, and try to pick it up, he'd be missing what his opponent would be doing. Sure enough Raiyinjin brought his sword to bear.
In a low swoop, he rushed at Zero, swiping the sword at his head. He missed, but not by much. He came down for another swoop, this time flying head on into Zero. His blade was right in front of him, being weilded like a spear. He was trying to impale Zero on it. Zero had had enough of this, and waited for the last possible moment to strike. Razor Mantis had served him well. The armor he had been fitted with as a disguise, had also been meant to be used as a weapon. It was why he took the hit in his last match. It had a Giga attack, which was based on the same system X had in his Second Armor. Damage converted into weapon energy. He channeled it into his drive system, and the smirked.
As Raiyinjin bore down on him he said to himself, "Thank goodness for Kuuenbu."
He executed the double jump, and landed right on Raiyinjin's back. As he leapt, he had brought his saber out. Hyouretsuzan was an ice spear attack. (if I remember right)
His saber pinned Raiyinjin into the ground. The ice changed things quickly. Being right near Raiyinjin's thrusters, the ice entered them, and froze over the fuel lines which connected to his drive system. He was literally grounded when his thrusters cracked, and exploded. He was going at a good clip too, and hit the ground hard. Parts sheared off of him, with a shriek of protesting metal. His face scraped the ground, cracking his face plate, and scratching the lenses which protected his vision system. His wings shredded, and disconnected as his body hit the ground. He had made a long trough in the ground, due to his speed, and the angle of impact. Zero had leapt off right after the attack, only to watch his opponent crash, and explode as he hit the ground. The match was over, but Zero wasn't sure for a few minutes. The crash had kicked up a lot of dust, and the fires on Raiyinjin's body put out a lot of smoke. He would be recycled into scrap. Probably used to make an Eagle Ride Armor suit. The announcer stood up and shouted, "Have you ever seen anything like it?" The crowd responded with thunderous cheers. Indeed they had not! Zero had won his second match. He smiled, knowing that he had even surprised himself. In fact, he wondered, is there anything I cannot do? He thought to himself for a minute, before exiting the arena. One day, he knew it would take all he had to make the world a better place.
