IO: A very powerful, dark, and mysterious Reploid.
His origin is as follows:
(Timeline is set 3 months before the rise of the Repliforce, and ends when the Sky Lagoon Collapses)
Floating in Lunar Orbit, a space laboratory named "Scion 12" was the home of his creators. Horan Zeng, a former professor of the world renowned Robitics Institue. He chose to retire at an early age, (being only 30,) because he did not like the direction that his colleagues were heading in.
Dr. Zeng and his wife Tori were happy to live in the space lab together, but he could not forget the work he had done over the course of his career. He decided to continue his work on Reploids, and began a project to create an incredibly powerful Reploid. He obtained a copy of the original plans for making a Reploid which were drawn up by Dr. Cain. This was Dr. Cain's understanding of Mega Man X's original design.
Using this, based on that which he already knew, and created, he devised a series of systems which would enable his creation to hold a great amount of power.
Dr. Zeng however did not like violence, but he knew that Reploids were prone to violence for whatever reason. It was because of this that he gave IO superior defensive qualities. IO was not yet completed when an explosion killed Dr. Zeng. Being in space as of late had proven treacherous. With Sigma's forces in space, it wasn't long before Mavericks came upon his lab, floating in a wide orbit around Earth's Moon. The lab came under attack, and crashed on the surface of the moon, with IO not yet completed.
Dr. Zeng was killed in the crash when the part of the station he was in collided with the surface, and exploded. Miraculously, his wife Tori survived the crash.
It was she who completed IO, and endowed him hit his weapons system. She knew of her husband's reasearch, but was unable to integrate his weapon's system into his defensive system. Her experiments showed that the two would not merge, but could at least coexist.
So, she created the attack system independantly, and then combined the two with an eaqualizer program. IO was completed, but not long after that, Tori, (Dr. Zeng's wife,)
died as well. She was on the Earth when the Sky Lagon fell. IO was able to escape, but not before promising to rid the world of the leader of the Mavericks. Because of his programming, he would have to choose which mode he would operate in.
Attack, or Defense. He was named IO, after the moon of Jupiter.
