IO found himself looking down upon the Space Station Scion 12, his former home, and place of origin. He saw his creator, Dr. Zeng, and the Doctor's lovely wife at work on thier master creation. THey spent many long hours together. They would talk, and laugh, and make jokes. Anything to keep the mood light. Io then understood, as he watched the creation take shape. He was looking at himself. Really, he was watching himself be made. That fact dawned on him. Long before his body had been built, his mind had already existed. In fact, he remembered much before this day. He remembered the Institute, where Dr. Zeng had created him. His mind at least. His mind had been hooked up into the network. He remembered reading files of all kinds. It was interesting, but IO remembered watching the Doctor too. He remembered that his mind had been tied in to all the optical, and auditory sensors in the Institute. He also remembered the day when things went black. He awoke, briefly to be found in a space station. He watched the Dr. and his wife build, but had no idea what it was at the time. Only now, did he know that he was watching them build his body.
Something caused him pain though. He recycled an image, and a feeling of pain. He sensed the evil around him. A fleet of ships descended upon the station. Blasters scorched the hull. The vessle rocked. He then saw it happen. He remembered seeing the crash. THe explosion. Dr. Zeng was burned alive. The explosion killed him in an instant. Then, things went black again. There was silence for a long time. In truth, he did not know if he was alive, or dead, or somewhere in between. Then he remembered waking up for the last time. He saw....Tori! Dr. Zeng's wife was the next thing he saw. But then, this was strange! ...Before...he remembered being able to see everything, all the time! Now, he could only see a little bit. What is more, he felt life running through him. He had been placed inside his body. At long last, he was completed. He spent very few hours with Tori. She talked to him softly. She told him about how her Husband had been killed. She told him of how the Mavericks destroyed him. He grew angry. She told him to save his strength. He took a rest, to tried and forget...but the memories came pooling back to him. In fragments first, but then clearer as they became more frequent. He had awoke to find a new day dawning. He wanted to tell his Master's wife that he would live in peace. He would have nothing to do with violence. He searched for her...called for her, but she was no where to be found in the house. They had been on Earth for some time now, as she explained. But where could she have run to? Outside, he saw her kneeling on the ground weeping. He ran to her. "What is it master Tori?", he asked. He was oh, so worried! She pointed up to the sky as she wept. IO tilted his head back, and gasped in horror. The Sky Lagoon, once a premiere Space Station, had now been plummeting to Earth. Tori called to him. "Get out of here IO!" He despaired, "I have to take you with me! I will not leave you!" She was sad, knowing that this would be her last moment. "You cannot make it unless you use your teleporter. I cannot go with you. You have no time! Leave me here!"
"But master Tori! I wanted to live here with you. I wanted to live in peace. I did not want to have to fight anyone!"
"There is no peace! Not as long as the Mavericks are still alive! They are the ones who killed your Master, and they are surely behind this! Avenge me! Avenge us both, for my Husband's sake!" "Master Tori, I cannot!" She cried aloud, "PROMISE ME!" He was silent for a long moment. Too long! Finally, he said it. "I promise!
The roar in his ears grew louder. People screaming in fear. He ran off, as she screamed, "Now go! Get out of here!"
He had time to take one last look at his Master's wife. His co-creator. Then, he saw the fierce red fires that surrounded the Sky Lagoon as it hit the atmosphere. Before it was upon him, he burst into the air, in a flash of light.
--IO screamed, "NOOOOOOOOOOO!" His loud voice filled the night. It was then when he came to. A forest? Where was he? Ahh! He remembered! He was looking for Mega Man X. His dream was the same every night. He found no peace in his heart. Only IO knew how to find that peace. He wated no more time in rest. He powered up, and blasted away.
It was time to find Signas!!!!
