Subject: Speculation on the stars' personal lives and how they effect XF

Okay, one of the things I really like about these boards (unlike the Fox boards) is that nobody here seems terribly interested in the personal lives of GA and DD and nobody equates the wonderful chemistry between Mulder and Scully with some sort of real-life affair between the happily-married DD and his co-star. I'm not trying to change that, but I do have a question that may have some bearing on the show and that ties into some posts on the Season 8 board and other places. It mostly has to do with the Entertainment Weekly article that most of us hated, mostly because in the article GA was talking about how "wonderful" it was to work with Robert Patrick.
So. . .does anybody think there's any possibility of REAL romantic attraction between GA and RP?? Keep in mind I know NOTHING about RP's personal life, so if he's happily married with four kids or flagrantly gay or something, the rest of my post isn't going to make much sense. Does anybody know anything about his personal background?
Normally, I wouldn't even consider this topic but GA does kind of have a history of becoming romantically involved with men she meets during her work on "The X-Files". Her ex-husband was part of the technical crew and I'm pretty sure she was also "invovled" for a while with the actor who played Ed Jerse on the Season Four ep "Never Again". On a purely personal level, I can see why a single woman might prefer spending the better part of her waking hours working with an attractive unmarried man, rather than an attractive married man.
IF GA and RP were to get involved on a personal level, does anybody think it would effect the on-screen Mulder/Scully relationship? I honestly don't see why it would. Did anybody watch a late 80s/early 90s TV show called "thirtysomething"? I only watched an occasional ep, but I'm pretty sure it had a couple on it who were married to each other in "real life", but were married to, or involved with, characters played by other actors on the show. During most of the run of XF, either DD or GA has been married and it hasn't hurt the MSR yet!
