... none of them would be very good actors if they couldn't divorce real life from the characters they play. If that were so, you could argue it the other way; that because GA and DD *aren't* involved in real ife, they wouldn't be able to play such convincing chemistry between Mulder and Scully. So I give credit to their acting ability. As for RP - no, I don't know anything about him, but maybe (dare I say this?) for a lead actress to have new blood to interact with, a brand new main character at that, it may be stimulating and Gillian might very well say it was wonderful to work with so-and-so, the new boy, whoever he was. She isn't taking anything from DD, just enthusing about getting a break from the norm.
